The role

This role is a 12 month internship and will be predominantly based within the HR Operations Team and will support all elements of the employee life-cycle, from contract generation and on-boarding to promotions and parental leave. Working alongside the HR Operations Team, our HR Intern will learn key HR Policies and processes, building their fundamental HR knowledge through supporting our UK based
colleagues with HR queries.

We are committed to ensuring our HR Intern has a rounded experience at Olympus. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work across the functions within HR including Talent Management and Acquisition, Learning and Development and HR Business Partnering.

Your responsibilities

  • Key on boarding activities; such as initiating background checks and health screenings via our third party providers
  • Issuing Job Offer Packs
  • Coordinating the distribution of Olympus welcome packs for all new starters
  •  Organising the Corporate Induction ensuring guest speakers and new starters are invited and attendance confirmed in a timely fashion
  •  Supporting with the facilitation of the Corporate Induction, providing an engaging, informative and inspiring experience for our new colleagues
  •  Owning the probation process; understanding the policy, monitoring the probation timeline, engaging Line Managers with the probation review form, ensuring reviews are completed on time and drafting probation outcome letters
  •  Managing the weekly employee changes process, ensuring accurate data is captured on the weekly report and distributed to key stakeholders
  •  Supporting sickness absence management through running monthly Bradford Factor reports
  •  Maintaining accurate and up to date personnel files, ensuring strict adherence to GDPR compliance
  • Key involvement in the HR engagement action groups to help define actions to improve processes and ways of working that contribute to the culture within the HR Team.

Your qualifications

  • Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in Human resources management or in a similar field of study
  • You are curious and keen to learn
  • Willing to take on responsibility and make the role your own 
  • High attention to detail
  • You will possess strong organisational skills 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • A keen interest in human resources
