NHS Property Services enables excellent patient care by acting as a trusted advisor to the NHS and by providing the best estate solutions.  

We manage 2,700 properties with 6,300 customers across England, which accounts for approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from listed buildings to new integrated care centres and include hospitals, GP practices and offices. 

The Property/Estates Strategy Graduate role in the Estates Strategy team plays a pivotal role in supporting the team to deliver key projects and programmes over a defined property portfolio that are crucial to optimising the NHS Estate. The graduate role will be key in supporting the Estates Strategy team in the South by supporting in key projects through the creation of option appraisals, strategy reports and other administrative activities.   

The graduate role will be part of the company-wide graduate programme where they will be part of a cohort of graduates across the organisation and will undertake an induction, learning pathway, be matched with a mentor and have regular check-ins with the Talent team.   

What you will do  

  • Undertake the creation of option appraisals, financial analysis, strategy reports and other forms of data reviews
  • Support the Estates Strategy team within key projects including the management of project and programme trackers within MS Excel
  • Undertake site visits independently or as part of a team to gather associated intelligence and preparing observational reports
  • Responsible for administrative duties that support the team i.e. setting up project meetings, taking meeting notes, etc.
  • Attend customer facing workshops and meetings
  • Research market and customer trends to identify opportunities to optimise the estate
  • Promote the Estates Strategy teams work through liaising with the Comms and Marketing team.
  • Engage with the company-wide graduate programme through the learning pathway and other graduate activities

Who you are  

  • You will have a degree level professional qualification in a relevant subject  
  • You will have strong problem-solving, organisational and communication skills 
  • You will have proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a team 
  • You will have a passion for healthcare and/or property/real estate  
  • Ability to travel to attend head offices (London, Birmingham, Stockport) for work and training purposes    
  • We would like to see experience being in a fast-paced working environment and/or working with different people/teams to achieve shared objectives – this can be in a sports team or a community group  
  • Volunteering or community work experience 

Where you’ll be  

This role is based in the South of England (located in Portsmouth/London/Bristol). We have a hybrid model that involves travel to our offices and some remote working.
