As a Platinum IIP accredited organisation, colleague experience is at the heart of our approach. We believe our Society has a unique purpose and special culture and we are committed to being a great place to work where our colleagues are supported to realise their full potential. We have an exciting new opportunity to join us this September for 12 months within our Treasury Team.

Oh, and by the way we don’t just pay a training allowance. You will join us on a ‘real living wage’ salary as we believe our colleagues deserve a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

Reporting to the Head of ALM (Asset and Liability Management), you will be involved in ongoing projects across both the Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (BSM) teams.  On the Treasury side you will primarily assist in the execution and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the Group’s Securitisation programme. As this is a growing source of medium to long term market funding for the Group, this presents a unique and exciting opportunity to assist in the shaping and delivery of an increasingly important element of the Group’s ongoing funding strategy.  On the BSM side you will help with the development of new modelling techniques that enhance the Group’s capability in managing interest rate risk and liquidity risk.  Developing these new models will provide you with a unique insight into how a financial institution’s balance sheet works, and how the composition of that balance sheet impacts both profit and risk.

Some key responsibilities will include but are not limited to

  •  Creating and testing new scenarios to stress test the Group’s resilience to interest rate shocks.
  • Developing new MI to better share analysis and insights with senior management.
  • Assisting in the establishment and ongoing management of mortgage collateral pools required to support secured funding transactions.
  • Participating in discussions with investment banks, rating agencies and legal counsel in respect of Debt Capital Market transactions as required.

With the support of your manager mentor and buddy, you will have objectives to work towards to make sure you are developing during your time with us. You will have exposure to the responsibilities of the wider team by supporting other projects and tasks in both departments. We really want to hear your ideas throughout your time with us, so you will have lots of opportunity to suggest new and innovative ways of working.

We go beyond the traditional placement route by providing you with the opportunity to learn and experience things beyond your assigned role and that will further support your career development through participation in a team challenge project with our Early Talent community.

Assessment Centres to identify the successful candidate will be held throughout April 2025 at Cobalt Business Park.
