You will receive a competitive pro-rated salary of over £27,000 (London) and over £24,000 (Newcastle).
What is the role?
The NAO is looking for penultimate year undergraduate students interested in starting their career in Accounting!
You will gain an understanding of NAO’s key work areas - Financial Audit and Value for Money (VfM).

What will I do?
- You will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of interesting projects that will allow you to see the importance of the work NAO completes.
- You will work with different colleagues helping you to expand your professional network. The opportunity to also shadow auditors in their day-to-day work is included.
- Tasks you will work on include undertaking crucial research and fieldwork for NAO’s audits and investigations.
- You will have the opportunity to attend a range of exciting training courses about the government, assurance and you may get to visit Parliament.
Programme start date:
16th June 2025 and will run for 8 weeks from our London or Newcastle office. This is an in-person internship and you must be available to start on 16th June and work from our respective offices.
