Job description

This position is for a Software Engineering internship opportunity at Motorola Solutions in our expanding Cork office.  We are looking for software engineers & software testers with a strong interest in embedded systems to help expand our team and deliver the next generation of communication devices to our customers. Our mission is to ensure that the products meet the requirements and related quality level before they are released into the field. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of software quality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Work in an Agile/Scrum team to analyse, design, implement, and test new two-way radio products and features
  • Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
  • Finding, tracking, and repairing RTOS device software defects
  • Create and execute unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests
  • Execute test cases, analyse results and report all detected issues/defects
  • Collaborate with other team members and test & engineering managers.

Basic requirements

  • Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, BIS or a related field.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in C/C++ is a plus
  • Experience in real-time embedded software is a plus
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills is a plus
  • Experience using version control; Git is a plus
  • Experience with Linux is a plus
  • Experience with embedded development/debug tools (such as emulators/JTAG, etc.) is a plus
