The European Private Credit team is part of Morgan Stanley Private Credit (“MSPC”), the corporate credit-investing business of MSIM. MSPC manages investments on behalf of institutional and high-net-worth investors across several funds, focusing on privately negotiated senior secured debt, junior debt, and mezzanine debt investments in middle market companies. The European Private Credit platform currently comprises c.15 team members.

The internship will commence in Jan 2025 and typically lasts 6 months. This internship will offer you an exciting and a dynamic work environment where you get to work alongside our diverse group of experienced professionals. The work that you do will be interesting and varied.

Training program

You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the due diligence process for potential investments by performing investment analysis, running financial models, and writing investment papers.
  • Assisting with investment origination.
  • Participating in fundraising efforts.
  • Performing ad hoc analyses as part of monitoring existing portfolio investments.
  • Contributing to other strategic and investor relations tasks.

Qualifications/skills/requirements

  • You are recently graduated or able to take the time off to commit for a full-time internship role for 6 months if you are currently in study
  • You have a demonstrable interest in investing and, in particular, private markets.
  • You are able to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative information quickly and accurately.
  • You have strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • You have great attention to detail.
  • You thrive in a team-based environment with multiple stakeholders. You are self-aware and open to feedback.
  • You are sufficiently confident to challenge opinions from peers and seniors.
  • You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • You have a high level of fluency in English; fluency in other European languages is considered a plus.
