Our Graduate Programme
Our two-year graduate scheme will start your journey to becoming a BIM Information Manager, give you the opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and equip you with the skills that you need to begin a successful career in Building Information Modelling.
You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day.
We would like the successful candidate to obtain a good foundation of knowledge in a variety of BIM technologies and will provide experience working in our specialist teams which includes model checking, laser scanning, asset data capture, virtual reality and augmented reality.
Principal responsibilities
As a graduate BIM Co-ordinator/Information Manager in our BIM team you will be responsible for ensuring all projects achieve BIM delivery in compliance with both industry and internal Bakerhicks standards, project BIM documentation and most importantly, to client specifications.
You will be expected to work with our internal multidisciplinary teams, having a key role in encouraging collaborative working for all project team members and will be regulary carrying out project reviews to check constructability, clash testing and asset data validation.
You will gain experience in the setup and reviewing of all BIM documentation, use of softwares such as Solibri for data checking and Autodesk tools for model federation, constructability reviews and clash detection. You will be required to attend BIM kick off meetings and regular project BIM workshops / coordination meetings, where you will help highight all issues raised and collaborate to agree solutions. You will have opportunities to visit construction sites to develop relationships with the site team and understand site challenges which will influence how you review models and data.
You will learn key skills relating to all project disciplines in a variety of sectors of work to give you the required skillset to add real value to any project.
There is also opportunities to develop coding skills and generate automated workflows.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for individuals who have an eye for detail and want to make a difference by using digital technology to benefit construction projects. Our team has a passion for BIM / Digital Engineering and specifically asset data as this is a huge part of the role. You must have or are set to achieve at least a HND in a relevant BIM, Design or Engineering subject such as Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering.
You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself, take pride in your work and put our customers first. Additionally, you must have a drive and capability to learn new softwares and carry out on the fly problem solving.
Due to the recent changes to salary thresholds set by UKVI, BakerHicks graduate positions do not meet the requirements to support new entrant visa sponsorship. Therefore, all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by various factors.
