This undergraduate placement role sits within our Recruitment & Resourcing (R&R) Team, within the wider People Team. The R&R function was established in 2021 to support the recruitment of experienced hires, and deployment of our fee earners onto client projects, across our General Practice, Non-profit and Corporate Client Services teams. The R&R team has grown significantly and is now a team of eight working across both the recruitment and resourcing functions.

This placement role will be working as a R&R Assistant, working closely with both functions, to support the end-to-end recruitment process across the whole firm, and assisting with the deployment process.

You’ll be gaining a varied experience and insight into a full experienced hire recruitment cycle, and will also gain an insight into workforce planning, deployment and resourcing. We are committed to giving each person that joins us training on all our systems, and you will be working in a personal and friendly environment.

Whilst on placement, responsibilities will include:

  • Handling resourcing queries within our shared inbox
  • Updating and making accurate changes to client projects in Dayshape (our resourcing system) 
  • Working closely with Early Talent team on trainees’ study schedules
  • Attending resource meetings to support the team
  • Working with the Human Resources team on offers and the onboarding of all new joiners 
  • Scheduling interviews with hiring managers, candidates and agencies 
  • Assisting with Pinpoint (our recruitment system) administration for candidates
  • Involvement in recruitment for junior roles 
  • Working with the Recruitment Advisor on our Refer & Earn scheme for experienced hires 
  • Ad-hoc support on other activities, projects and events


This 12-month placement is for students who need to complete a placement as part of their undergraduate degree, and we are looking for students who are interested in pursuing a career in recruitment, resourcing and/or a People function. Students applying should be on-track for a 2:2 or above, and demonstrate the following skills/interests:

  • A team orientated approach with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, able to multi-task and update systems accurately
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • A good communicator, able to deal comfortably and credibly with internal colleagues
  • Takes ownership of own workload and development
  • Professional with a can-do attitude 
  • Keen to develop a commercial mindset and learn about a corporate business environment
