Skills and competencies

To succeed as a Banking Advisory intern, you should:

  • Have coding ability - Phyton & R preferred
  • Enjoy solving analytical and technical problems.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn new skills and concepts.
  • Be comfortable working with data to help gain insights.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic self-learner who responds positively to feedback

Qualifications

  • Studying for a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
  • Knowledge of R or Python beneficial
  • Fluent in English; fluent in another European language beneficial
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

You will be an active member of the Banking Advisory group, working with banks, insurance, and other financial institutions to solve their foremost challenges related to financial risk, including risk assessment and credit risk modelling, ESG and Climate risks, portfolio management, IFRS9, regulatory compliance. You will assist the team on numerous data analysis and coding tasks, working with mentors, project leads to present your work to key stakeholders. You will work on Moody’s Analytics products as well as bespoke advisory projects across a range of modelling and technical aspects, covering data analysis, statistical modelling/analyses, training, presentation/ slides preparation, research on market trends or regulatory topics.

About the team

The Banking Advisory team is responsible for the development and deployment of customised risk management services to support financial institutions seeking to effectively measure, manage and control their exposure to credit risk. The team works with clients across credit risk modelling, ESG and Climate risks, portfolio management, IFRS9, regulatory compliance to optimize client workflows, facilitate knowledge transfer, and explore new uses of our models and data.
