Mitie is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Project Manager to join our team supporting the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) account. In this role, you will gain valuable experience working within a dynamic and safety-critical industry, playing a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of projects for a major client.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating contractors, managing client expectations, liaising with stakeholders, conducting site inspections, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within specified timelines and budgets. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Scope Development: Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, to ensure project success and alignment with business objectives.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing any issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and milestones, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Commercial Management: Monitor project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to maximize profitability and minimize financial risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, implementing appropriate quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders and project teams, fostering transparency and collaboration.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, motivating team members to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation, implementing best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, project management) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are desirable, but not essential.
