HR graduate scheme overview

Our 12 month scheme fast tracks you to your first role in HR and we’ll make sure you have every opportunity to learn all the necessary bits and pieces along the way. You’ll learn loads on the job and through a range of placements throughout the HR function.

We will make sure you get there by

  • Pub, Bar or Restaurant placement (Weeks 2 to 3)
  • 2 month placement aligned to a project within one of our brands (Month 2 to 3)
  • 3 month new opening training placement (Months 4 – 6)
  • 3 month Recruitment placement (Months 7 – 9)
  • 3 month Learning & Development placement (Months 10 – 12)

You will be really well supported by a great team of people on your journey with us - your line manager, placement manager, and a graduate buddy from our community of graduates across the business.

And there is more…. to ensure you’re on the right trajectory you will also benefit from development workshops throughout the scheme, focused on enhancing your skill set and developing your leadership capabilities.

“During my time in the New Openings Team, I acted as a Front of House team trainer and solo delivered an 11-session training plan for the Jack Rabbit, Vintage Inn – Plymouth after their remodel. The training plan consisted of technical sessions, i.e Allergens and some practical fun i.e Cocktail speed trials! Working in the Openings Team is so rewarding; you spend so much time in site, having a blast with the teams in our businesses & learn so much about the ins and outs of our operation, all whilst contributing to the site’s post-remodel sales and quality of service!”

All sound exciting so far? To be eligible to join our HR graduate scheme

  • You’ll either have, or be on track to achieve at least a 2:1 degree and have achieved ABB grades at A level or above (or equivalent BTEC grades)
  • Hold a full and valid UK driver’s licence
  • As this role is mobile there’s flexibility over where you are based in the UK, but you’ll need to be able to travel to our Head Office located in the heart of Birmingham

  1. Video interview where we’ll get to know a bit about you, and if you impress us here, we’ll invite you to complete Verbal & Numerical Testing (from the comfort of your own home)
  2. Face-to-face interview and group assessments at our Retail Support Centre in Birmingham – where you’ll also get the chance to know more about us (should you progress after video interview)
  3. Final stage senior management interview (should you progress after Face-to-face assessment)
