You will be based in one of our London offices, with opportunities to work overseas after 4 years

(MI6 is an inclusive employer and offers a range of flexible working opportunities)

We’re MI6 - the UK's Secret Intelligence Service. We work globally to keep the UK safe from overseas threats. Using cutting-edge tech and innovative techniques, we gather intelligence from different people and organisations. But we couldn’t do any of it without our Business Support Officers. Now, we’re looking for driven people to join us and be right at the heart of MI6.

As a Business Support Officer, you’ll have a meaningful role in keeping our projects and teams running smoothly – both at home and internationally. It’s an exciting position that offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to work across our organisation. One day, you might be arranging tech transfers overseas and the next, you could be coordinating visits with our intelligence partners. Either way, you'll help keep our records up-to-date, manage secure communications and ensure the right information reaches the right people.

With each task you take on, you’ll get the best out of yourself – and our teams. You’ll spend two years in each post, gaining invaluable skills, and after four years, you’ll have the opportunity to further broaden your horizons, and apply for an overseas posting. As a part of our team, you’ll have ample opportunities to develop, and you’ll always be encouraged to think up fresh ways of doing things.

Organised, proactive and adaptable, you’ll be passionate about developing your skills and keen to get to grips with different problems. You might have just left full-time education or started a career, or you might have lots of admin experience and be looking for a change. In any case, you’ll pay great attention to detail, have excellent organisational skills and a professional attitude. A team-player, you’ll communicate effectively and go out of your way to help others. And, crucially, you’ll understand the importance of discretion. If that sounds like you, you’d be perfect for MI6.

This recruitment campaign is part of a pilot scheme to reimburse candidate expenses. We will aim to reimburse reasonable costs of travelling to/from our interview location(s), or any other required attendance as part of the recruitment process. Please see the following link for more details.

At MI6 diversity and inclusion are critical to our mission. To protect the UK, we need a truly diverse workforce that reflects the society we serve. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including those from groups that are under-represented in our workforce such as women, those from an ethnic minority background, people with disabilities and those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
