What you can expect from our Internship programme

The programme consists of an immersive dive into the world of M&G, starting on 23 June 2025. We are focused on developing you professionally, as well as building your technical skills, through real, value-add work and learning sessions hosted by our experienced professionals.

Your induction will give you a grounding of who we are and what we do before you move into your dedicated team for the rest of your time with us. Being based in the same team for the duration of the programme means you will be able to add real value to your teams, gain an in-depth of knowledge of your business area and build lasting relationships with your colleagues. You will get exposure to other areas through learner sessions and networking opportunities during the summer. Building your network is an important part of an internship, so each intern will be allocated a buddy from our graduate cohort, and you will also have the opportunity to attend networking and social events during your time here.

Our internship programme is a pipeline to our Graduate programme, so at the end of your internship, you will have the opportunity to apply for one of our graduate positions commencing in 2026. We have three Graduate streams within Finance: Accounting, Actuarial and General Graduate Scheme.

What will you be doing?

You will be working on your own projects, getting involved in team meetings, and encouraged to present your own views and ideas during your time here. Interns at M&G make valuable contributions to the teams they work in and could be involved in a variety of tasks across our teams:

  • Working alongside experienced colleagues to help run accounting and valuation processes.
  • Understanding reporting cycles and processes.
  • Gaining insights into how Finance support business developments and projects ensuring they are providing good outcomes for our internal and external customers.
  • Exposure to the latest IT systems and Technologies used in a Finance team.

Our application process

We will work with you during the recruitment process to align your strengths and preferences with our teams to find you the most suitable placement. To do this, we follow a four-stage process:

  • Submit your CV Application by 30 November.
  • Complete our Online Assessments
  • Complete a Video Interview.
  • Attend one of our Assessment Centres.

Before the Assessment Centre Day, you will be invited to attend a virtual candidate briefing session where we will cover what to expect on the day, and tips for success. On the day itself you will be able to speak to some of our Graduates to find out their experiences of M&G and how they found the transition from campus to corporate life.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and have a genuine interest in starting their career in Finance. We don’t require specific degrees or grades because we know each background and experience brings its own skills and individual perspective to M&G. This programme will teach you the technical and professional skills you need to be successful in your career, as long as you are committed to investing the time in your own development.
