What you can expect from our Internship Programme

As an Asset Management Intern, you will be placed in either one of our Investment teams (such as Equities, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset or Private Markets), our Global Distribution and Product function (which includes Product, Marketing, Strategy and Distribution), our Asset Management Chief Operating Office (COO), or Sustainability. Each area plays a vital role in the success of our Asset Management business as a whole and will help you begin building the foundations of a career in this field.

The programme consists of an 8-week immersive dive into the world of M&G, starting on 23 June 2025. We are focused on developing you professionally, as well as building your technical skills, through real, value-add work and learning sessions hosted by our experienced professionals.

Your induction will give you a grounding of who we are, our strategy, and customers & clients before you move into your dedicated team for the rest of your time with us. Being based in the same team for the duration of the programme will give you an in-depth of knowledge of your business area and help you to build lasting relationships with your colleagues. Another important part of your internship is building your network, so each intern will be allocated a buddy from our graduate cohort and will also have the opportunity to attend networking and social events during your time here.

Our Internship programme is a pipeline to our Graduate programme, so if you are successful during your time with us, we may invite you to apply for one of our graduate positions commencing in 2026.

What will you be doing?

You will be working on your own projects, getting involved in team meetings, and encouraged to present your own views and ideas during your time here. Interns at M&G plc make valuable contributions to the teams they work in and will be involved in a variety of tasks dependent upon the hosting team.

Our application process

We will work with you during the recruitment process to align your strengths and preferences with our teams to find you the most suitable placement and where possible will look to align you to one of the business areas listed above. To do this, we follow a four-stage process:

1. Submit your CV Application

2. Complete our Online Assessments

3. Complete a Video Interview

4. Attend one of our Assessment Centres (typically in-person)

Before the Assessment Centre Day, you will attend a candidate briefing session where we will cover what to expect on the day, and tips for success. On the day itself you will be able to speak to some of our Graduates to find out their experiences of M&G and how they found the transition to corporate life.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative thinkers and hands-on individuals from any subject matter background, with a desire to learn and who have a genuine interest in financial markets. Candidates who succeed with us are self-motivated, capable of building and maintaining relationships and work effectively as part of a team.

Candidates must be able to formulate their own opinions by thinking both analytically and critically about problems. We do not require specific degrees or grades because we know each background and experience brings its own skills and individual perspective to M&G.

This programme will teach you the technical and professional skills you need to be successful in your career, if you are committed to investing the time in your own development.
