About the role
As a Graduate Race Strategy Engineer you will be responsible for competitor analysis, strategy tool development, setup and management, a range of race strategy statistics collection and modelling, and Factory race and test support duties.
Due to the nature of the role, in line with the Formula One race calendar, many of our key activities take place on weekends where real time analysis and adjustments are crucial for strategy development and execution. Working during these times allows for effective collaboration with team members, drivers, and engineers to optimise performance.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Provide race and test support, at the factory for most events during the year
- Conduct competitor performance analysis.
- Providing race strategy statistics gathering and management.
- Contribute to race strategy statistical modelling.
- Contribute to the current race strategy toolsets; working closely with the software group to ensure that toolsets are integrated and developed to a high standard
- Support with automating tasks where possible.
To be successful you will have
Essential
- Relevant mathematics, physics, computer science or engineering degree (2.1 minimum grade).
- Strong mathematics background, with a good understanding of statistics.
- Flexibility in hours is required
Desirable
- Objectives-focussed, logical approach even under time pressured conditions.
- Able to provide clear concise information in all situations, especially in high pressure environments.
- Able to efficiently work as a part of a developed engineering team.
- Previous experience in a motorsports environment desirable.
- Ability to build and then innovate on current engineering solutions.
- Previous programming experience desirable (Python, C#, Git).
