As part of your Graduate Scheme you will contribute to the final assembly and shipping of elements of our Hybrid Power Unit in both Formula 1 and Formula E through build tooling/fixture design or process improvement. In addition to this, we are also leading the transfer of state-of-the-art Formula 1 technology into the revolutionary Mercedes AMG Road Car “Project One”.

You will be involved in all assembly areas within the business which include Powertrain Build, Test and Trackside Environments and these areas are to be considered when designing build tooling and fixturing.

Finally, you will contribute to assembly improvement projects that your skills will allow you to identify, analyse and implement through process engineering or mechanical build tooling design.

What do we need from you?

  • A curious, tenacious and driven individual with a hunger to work in a fast paced environment
  • You’ll have achieved a minimum of 2:1, or above, in a relevant Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering or Automotive Engineer degree
  • Ideally you will be or have been actively involved in motorsport or have experience of assembling powertrains or vehicles outside of normal studies, this could be work experience or hobbies
  • You will ideally have previous experience working with Catia or Visual Basic
  • The creativity and innovation to overcome engineering challenges
  • You will be adaptable as no two days are the same with the pressure to be race ready
  • You will be a team player, who can effectively communicate with senior managers as well as your peers.
  • Being self-motivated and thorough is essential as well as a keen interest in engineering and engineering solutions
  • A willingness to go the extra mile to help the team succeed
