The opportunity
Join the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Radiation Effects (RE) department for a chance to play a fundamental role in bringing together MBDA's missile systems: supporting design and test of Missile systems and electronic equipment.
Our four-year programme for Electro-Mechanical Engineering Apprentices is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an accredited engineering scheme that has developed some of the leading engineering apprentices in the UK.
The EMC and RE department is like no other within MBDA. It sits within the Environmental Engineering and Facilities (EE&F) function and is split between a test team working hands on in our pioneering EMC Facility to simulate environments and also a highly skilled consultancy team that is embedded across all projects within MBDA to ensure good EMC practice & design.

Programme structure
You will study towards a BEng (Hons) Electro-Mechanical Engineering at University Centre Weston for 4 years, which will be fully funded by MBDA.
In your first year, you will attend college during term time. In the training provider holidays you will come on site to start applying everything you have learnt in your course. You will experience placements in EMC and RE department, as well as EE&F, and more general placements around many different areas of the business. You'll get lab experience within our EMC facility as well as the opportunity to influence the design of electronic equipment by working closely with design teams. You'll also have the opportunity to complete external placements outside of MBDA, with our external contractors and suppliers.
This will allow you to earn an academic and nationally recognised qualification whilst gaining hands on learning experience within a professional and friendly workplace.

What we're looking for from you
1) 5 GCSES including Maths & English Language & Science/Technology at a Grade 9 - 4
2) 120 UCAS points achieved through:
- 3 A-levels. This will include Maths PLUS a science or technology or an engineering subject
- T-Level in an Engineering subject
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma including a Distinction in Further Maths

Please note: We look at entry criteria based on your top three full A Levels or equivalent qualifications (BTEC/T Level). We do not include UCAS points gained from an Extended Project Qualification. Additionally, as an employer we set our own entry criteria based on the requirements of this role. This means that the criteria above may differ from the university.
