Mercer Investments is seeking candidates for the following position based in the London office:

Join Mercer as a summer intern with our Business Development team and experience working for a global company shaping the future of Health, Wealth, and Career consulting.

This is an eight-week paid internship providing penultimate year students with an accelerated foundation to their career.

What can you expect?

The business development team manages tenders, produces proposals and co-ordinates all new business-related marketing content. We also support all client and prospective client meetings in assembling materials by compiling, consolidating, formatting and summarizing information, graphs, and presentations.

The internship will focus on several different projects which will enhance our material database for use in future existing and prospective client interactions. The role will give you opportunities to: 

  • Gain insight across both private and public market investments.
  • Work with London colleagues as part of a pan-European team with a global remit focusing on alternatives and public market investment solutions for our clients.
  • Receive an in-depth understanding of the investments market.
  • Make an impact on our content used in future sales opportunities.

We will count on you to

  • Actively co-ordinate the creation of new content, in addition to managing and updating existing content.
  • Assist the team with writing, reviewing and editing RFP and RFI requests.
  • Help to prepare material in support of client and prospective client meetings.
  • Conduct research relating to global prospects and potential timelines for engagement.

What you need to have

  • You should be a penultimate year student and on track to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree classification. An interest in financial investments, including the alternatives market.
  • Keen to support with an analytical and problem-solving mind-set.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • English and Mathematics GCSE (Minimum Grade 4).
  • Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship for this role.

What makes you stand out

  • Previous internship experience within financial markets (not essential).
  • Exposure to investment consulting RFP processes (not essential).
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
