We are seeking a motivated and talented Graduate Systems Engineer to provide assistance in the development of new scientific instrumentation through simulation and CFD. The candidate is responsible for developing and implementing fluid dynamic simulations and/or method development tools to support design and analysis of various projects
What you'll do
- Develop and implement fluid dynamics simulations using CFD software
- Analyze and interpret simulation results and provide recommendations to project team
- Create and maintain simulation models and data sets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Perform validation and verification of simulation models against test data as necessary
- To participate in the development of products as part of a multi-disciplinary project team and to work within project timescales, providing progress indication and task estimates, as necessary.
- To liaise with other groups in the transfer of designs and in the definition of system testing procedures
- To solve product problems as they relate to the operation of the instrument, liaising with other technical specialists, as necessary.
- To acquire, maintain and disseminate knowledge of current and cutting edge technology and its potential application to Malvern Panalytical
- To assist in training courses for internal and external personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Systems Engineering or a related field.
About you
- Strong background in fluid dynamics principles, good CFD practical experience from University will also be considered
- Proficient in using CFD software. ANSYS would be a bonus
- Experience with CAD software (Solid Edge, NX, Solidworks) is desirable
- Programming experience with C, C++, C#, Fortran, Python.
- Experience using optimisation methods and Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics using CFD software
- CAD Tools and Solid Modelling
- Programming bespoke algorithms within a CFD environment
- Design of Experiments and Optimisation Methodologies
