About the position
Lockton Re are excited to be hosting an Actuarial internship at our London office, around the corner from the iconic Lloyd’s of London building in the City. Our 6-week Actuarial Internship Programme has been built so you can explore a career in insurance whilst giving you the opportunity to create your own experiences.

Who we are looking for
Our Actuarial Internship Programme is open to all penultimate year undergraduate students, who are curious and eager to learn, regardless of degree subject. You are a strong communicator, have excellent numerical and analytical skills and enjoy building relationships and collaborating with others.

- A positive, proactive, can-do attitude, even when under pressure
- Organised and proactive with the ability to plan own workload
- Quality-driven with great attention to detail
- Adaptability, as the insurance landscape is ever-evolving and a fast-paced environment
Minimum requirements
- Penultimate year students only (2nd year of a 3-year course or 3rd year of a 4-year course)
- You will be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any subject*
- Three A Levels, including Mathematics at grade A or above
*Please note that you do not require a Mathematics or Actuarial Science degree, however, due to the nature of actuarial work you need excellent numerical skills.
What is broking in reinsurance?
Our clients range from specialist insurers to multi-national insurance and reinsurance companies. We build relationships with our clients, understand their needs, provide advice on reinsurance products, create a link between clients and reinsurers, negotiate terms and provide advice on claims.
As an Actuarial Intern, you will quantify the risks faced by clients and work with our broking teams to design and evaluate reinsurance products which mitigate those risks.

Programme details
- Competitive salary: £2,900
- 2 days annual leave
- Start date: Monday, 16th June 2025
- Duration: 6-week paid programme
- Location: You will be based at our central London office (EC3A 7AG)
NB: You need to be living within a daily commuting distance for the duration of the programme.
