This is your chance to take the first steps in your working career while continuing with Education. Could a 1-year Industrial Placement in the Group Sourcing & Supplier Management (GS&SM) team be that step?

As an Industrial Placement you’ll learn about the industry and gain experience on communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, personal impact and core sourcing and supplier management skills.

As a group, we spend significant amounts with thousands of suppliers, who support the provision of a diverse and complex range of products and/or services.

Group Sourcing and Supplier Management (GS&SM) play an important role in both cost savings and risk management. We collaborate with the businesses to ensure we understand their real needs and assist them with making informed decisions on the goods and services that the Group acquires.

We invest our money wisely with suppliers who can help us deliver our mission, which is to create a more sustainable and inclusive future for people and businesses, shaping finance as a force for good.

This placement involves being in two six-month roles under two separate teams. Each of these teams form an integral part of GS&SM and help the Group buy the right product at the right price and at the right time.

The 6-month rotation will be within one of the below teams:

  • Sourcing Transactions - this team plays a vital role supporting lower value and lower risk contracts across a range of suppliers and needs
  • IT Resource - we help colleagues outsource their technology needs
  • Supplier Assurance - responsible for ensuring policy compliance on our highest risk suppliers
