We are offering a 1-year internship programme in small animal Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility of performing CT and MRI scans.

You will have opportunities to attend and present at journal clubs, attend formal teaching sessions and present cases they have followed, with further possible opportunity to be involved in a research project leading to publication of a paper in a peer reviewed journal.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct communication and co-ordination with our imaging nurses, charge nurses/case flow co-ordinators, and radiologists.
  • The acquisition of diagnostic studies from Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), radiography, and fluoroscopy.
  • You will be expected to work confidently and solely within each imaging modality (excluding ultrasound), operating highly specialised imaging equipment.
  • You will be expected to perform quality assurance (QA) on the various items of imaging equipment.

About you

Requirements for entry into the internship programme are as follows:

  • You must have two years post graduate experience in either small animal or mixed practice
  • Completion of a 1-year rotating internship in a recognised small animal multi-disciplinary referral hospital is desirable; comparable post-graduate clinical experience in small animal veterinary practice will also be considered
  • You must have a high level of multi-disciplinary knowledge
  • You must be, or be eligible to be, a member of the RCVS
  • You should have a strong interest in small animal Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
  • You must have good spoken and written English.
