Audit
Audit is the largest of KPMG UK's practices. Our Audit teams examine organisations and ensure their published accounts provide a ‘true and fair’ view of their financial position and results. The work we do makes a meaningful difference to businesses and communities. It is critical to the everyday working of society, helps build trust in the economy and supports companies as they grow.
We audit some of the world’s biggest companies, including big retailers, UK banks and multinational organisations. These organisations rely on us to provide independent insight, challenge and high-quality audit expertise. Through this work, we’re also committed to helping to build sustainable organisations from an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) perspective.
Our four-week Audit Vacation Programme is your chance to gain work experience in a specific audit business area and an insight into life within our diverse and supportive audit community. The programme is designed to help you grow and develop a breadth of professional skills, giving you learning that will last you a lifetime. You’ll build your commercial understanding and in-depth knowledge of different sectors and businesses and understand more about the work we do to deliver the highest quality audits.
If you’re successful on the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to be considered for our Audit Graduate programme in the same office location, starting in 2024.
Mergers & Acquisitions

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is a fast-paced area of our Deal Advisory business. Our M&A team is focused on adding value to our clients by providing a full range of financial advisory services across several industries and sectors. We provide the advice that enables organisations on both sides of a transaction to navigate challenges successfully. Whether we're advising sellers or buyers, we create holistic solutions that add real value. Our remit spans acquisitions, disposals, mergers and IPOs across a host of end markets and sectors, and the deals we advise upon are often international in scope.
Our four-week M&A Vacation programme, is your chance to gain valuable work experience and exposure to a real variety of projects. We’re involved in the whole deal cycle, so it isn’t just about simply handling transactions. You’ll learn about providing advice and adding value at every stage – including on some very high profile deals. It could be that you’re part of a team helping a business prepare for exit or looking at which companies could be open to acquisition in a particular market.
This is your opportunity to grow, learn new skills, build your network and gain an insight into life within our diverse KPMG community. You’ll have the support of a buddy and a manager to help you feel confident from the start.

Tax
As a complex, constantly changing and increasingly high-profile field, tax offers you the opportunity to pursue an extensive and diverse range of career paths. Our tax teams work with a wide range of organisations and individuals, helping them to implement the tax approaches that best suit their commercial needs within domestic and international legal and regulatory requirements.
Our four-week Tax Vacation programme gives you the chance to gain practical experience as part of our supportive and diverse KPMG community. You’ll find out more about our diverse tax teams and the scale and breadth of the work we do, develop your business knowledge and build technical skills. It's an opportunity to make new contacts, enhance your CV and discover what it’s like to be part of our supportive and vibrant community.
You’ll gain insights into how we help our clients manage tax issues, such as digitally transforming business models and reacting to significant changes to taxation policy. Across the spectrum of company and personal tax issues, you could learn about the holistic advice we provide, spanning international tax, deal advisory tax, transfer pricing and indirect taxes. You could explore the tax intricacies of employee reward, as well as managing tax issues arising as result of having a global workforce, or develop knowledge of how we support high net worth individuals and entrepreneurial families to manage their tax affairs and preserve their legacies.
