About the role
Our rural graduate programme based across the UK in our Rural offices, will give you exposure, experience, training and support so that, whatever skills and perspectives you bring, you’ll build on your potential. Our programme is designed to provide you with everything you need to confidently launch a career in the rural property industry. Following the ‘Rural’ APC pathway, you will experience an unparalleled breadth of opportunities and explore a diverse range of projects. You’ll get exposure to an extended portfolio of clients, tenants and properties and we will help you discover where your strengths and interests are best placed:
Your programme will include assisting in managing estates on behalf of private and institutional landowners, this could encompass a range of responsibilities such as:
- Agricultural management (In hand farming, Contract and share farming agreements, Subsidy claims, environmental grants)
- Compulsory purchase
- Estate management (LL&T, rent reviews, repairs, new lettings, H&S etc)
- Land purchasing
- Land sales
- Professional land agency (planning and development, Environmental off-setting, strategic reviews, tenancy surrender and regrants)
- Valuation
You will join the firm in September 2025, with the aim of completing the graduate scheme and qualifying as a surveyor in November 2027 (RICS Autumn Sitting). If you do not have a RICS accredited degree, you will complete the RICS accredited MSC/MProf alongside your work. You will join the firm in September 2025, with the aim of completing the graduate scheme and qualifying as a surveyor in March 2028 (RICS Spring Sitting).
Our Rural offices are based in: Cambridge, Canterbury, East Hendred, Horsham, Melton Mowbray, Bristol, York.
About you
With a passion for property, the countryside, and an ambition to become an expert in the rural property sector, you’ll have an undergraduate degree in any subject. You might have some experience within the rural and land-based sector, or some farm-based experience, but this isn’t necessary.
More than anything, you’ll be a true team player ready to dedicate yourself to the role. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch a future-focused career right at the heart of the property industry.
Eligibility criteria
- Passion for the countryside and the rural/land-based sector
- A minimum C/4 and above in GCSE Maths and English Language
- 1 A-levels/equivalent e.g. Scottish Highers or International Baccalaureate
- A 2:1 degree (or higher) in any subject, actual or predicted
- Beneficial to hold a full UK driving license
- The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have an indefinite right to work in the UK
