The SPTS division of KLA, designs, manufactures and markets wafer processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries. SPTS provides industry leading etch and deposition process technologies on a range of single wafer handling platforms. End-market applications include micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), advanced packaging, LED, high speed RF device IC’s and power semiconductors.

Group/Division

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments.

SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

Job Description

Are you looking for a paid summer internship in a fast-growing, award-winning, global semiconductor company? KLA is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of equipment used in the semiconductor industry to make a wide range of electronic and photonic components.

We’re excited to be able to offer a paid summer internship designed to encourage women to learn more about and take up the excellent work opportunities within an Engineering career.

What can you expect?

  • Support and development as you explore a career within Engineering.
  • We can offer you experience of hardware, software, and process engineering, here at our site in Newport, South Wales.
  • On successful completion of this internship, there may be further financial support available for you during your final academic year, and an enhanced opportunity for a permanent position on our Graduate Programme following your graduation!
  • You will be assigned a female buddy/mentor who will support and help you.
  • An opportunity to attend events arranged by our WISE (Women in Stem Empowered) group and WES (The Women’s Engineering Society)
  • We will arrange visits to other semi sites to allow you to experience the opportunities provided within the thriving local semiconductor industry.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics undergraduate with graduation ideally 2024.
