Kiwa Product Compliance is looking for a Compliance Technician to join their forward thinking organisation. The role is to support the day-to-day business operations by performing technical document reviews and the screening of a wide variety of radio and electrical devices (RF and EMC), prior to technical compliance submissions to international regulatory authorities, laboratories, and test houses. KPC is a Global Market Access company for Radio, Telecom and ITE equipment.

About the role

The roles purpose is to support the day-to-day business operations by performing technical document reviews and the screening of a wide variety of radio and electrical devices (RF and EMC), prior to technical compliance submissions to international regulatory authorities, laboratories, and test houses.

As a member of the KPC Technical Team you will have full ownership of allocated countries, including the Type Approval application process, and act as a technical lead to provide technical support to stakeholders including external test houses, laboratories, and customers, as well as internal project managers, account managers and compliance specialists.

Activities will include technical document reviews, product sample screening (limited in-house testing), technical trouble shooting and performing technical research to support business development.

Reporting to the Senior Compliance Engineer, all activities will be carried out in line with internal metrics and customer expectation.

Key activities

  • Supporting technically complex Type Approval applications to international test labs, agencies, and regulatory authorities worldwide.
  • Conduct technical document reviews and perform sample screening (limited in-house testing) on customer product samples, to ensure suitability of samples prior to testing.
  • Managing customer accounts in technically demanding countries and maintaining open channels of communication with all stakeholders.
  • Supporting test laboratories worldwide and responding to technical queries to support lab testing of customers’ products.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting at a basic / introductory level.

Do you have what it takes?

  • The ability to understand technical documentation, review and interpret engineering documents and drawings, including test reports, electrical schematics, and PCB’s etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail and aptitude for accuracy.
  • Hold a relevant engineering or scientific / technical degree (e.g. electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications engineering) or equivalent (e.g. HNC / HND).
  • A basic awareness and understanding of RF / EMC / Electronics.
  • Practical experience in the use of test and measurement equipment (e.g. spectrum analyser, oscilloscope) for basic measurements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to work on your own initiative and as part of a supportive team.

  • £27,000 - £33,000 per annum
