Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance (KFS) have an exciting opening for a Fire Safety Engineer to join our Product Evaluation team, working as part of a specialised engineering consultancy in a supportive and diverse team in our Aylesbury office. This is the perfect role if you are looking to start or advance your career in fire engineering, where you will be fully supported with mentoring and training. This position offers excellent prospects for progression, combined with opportunities to broaden your fire engineering knowledge/skills through collaboration with other Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance departments/teams. About the role

  • Assist in fire safety projects being delivered on time and within budget.
  • Undertake work which will demonstrate compliance with current legislation and aligns with the Company’s operational procedures.
  • Maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn, be involved in project work and maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD)

Do you have what it takes

  • Gained a Level 5/6 qualification. Typically, this will be a foundation degree (level 5) or a bachelor’s degree with honours (level 6) in an Engineering related subject.
  • Good knowledge of relevant standards and fire safety legislation.
  • Technical responsibility within the limits of expertise.
  • Adhere to the Register of Assessors and Reviewers in accordance with the Passive Fire Protection Forum (PFPF) ‘Guide to Undertaking Technical Assessments of Fire Performance of Construction Products Based on Fire Test Evidence’ (PFPF Guide) ensuring that all assessors and reviewers work within their competencies.
  • Be able to author basic and intermediate reports in accordance with the PFPF Guide.
  • Effective interpersonal skills in communicating technical matters.
  • The ability to operate in accordance with safe systems of work.
  • The ability to perform routine tasks typically with significant supervision.
  • The ability to learn new and best practice methods.
  • Balancing the needs of Customers, Shareholders and Employees.
  • Willingness to travel as and when required.
  • Trusted to deal with confidential information.

  • £35,000 - £50,000 per annum
