We're looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, on a summer placement.

As a Civil Engineer, you'll be assisting in the planning & coordination, design & management of construction projects and on-site activities.

Your day to day will include

  • Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
  • Participating in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

When you join, you will be enrolled onto our summer placement scheme. The programme will take 8-weeks to complete and has been designed to immerse yourself in the world of construction, you'll get to see your learnings in real world situations and gain practical experiences to support the rest of your degree.

What are we looking for?

We're on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering, who can join us on an 8-week placement across July - August. You must be returning to university upon completion of your placement. The role of Civil Engineer is great for you if:

  • Strong interest in construction engineering and project management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
