KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit.

Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

KBR is looking for a Graduate Process Safety Engineer to work in our Leatherhead offices.

What you'll be doing

As a graduate in our program, you will:

  • Work as part of a project team to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Use your judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications as necessary.
  • Engage in consequence modelling using standard software packages such as PHAST and Flaresim.
  • Assist in scribing HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of safety specifications to enhance project safety standards.
  • Support the design of safety systems, including firewater systems and blast protection measures.
  • Manage actions and follow up on safety-related tasks and recommendations.
  • With increased experience, assist in the design of larger and more complex safety assignments within the field of Technical Safety.

About you

What you will need

  • Skills gained through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final year design projects and any relevant work placements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborative projects and safety reviews.
  • Right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role at this time.

Education

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or equivalent in science or engineering, typically in Chemical Engineering.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Chemical Engineering or Process Safety would be desirable.
