We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance and accounting team. The Accounting Intern will support the accounting department in various financial tasks, gaining valuable hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and data analysis. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate pursuing a career in accounting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in processing and recording financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Help with reconciling bank statements, accounts, and other financial data to ensure accuracy.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations.
- Assist in conducting financial analysis and variance explanations to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Aid in the maintenance of financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in auditing financial documents and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support the preparation and filing of tax-related documents and reports.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Assist with other ad-hoc financial projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working with numerical data accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with accounting software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is a plus but not required.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude to take on new challenges.
