Hours and location

We look forward to having you in the office for the full duration of your work experience, which runs from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Our vibrant location at 2 Marylebone Rd, NW1 4DF, London, provides the perfect setting for you to immerse yourself in a welcoming and collaborative environment.

Located just a stone’s throw from the picturesque Regent's Park, our office offers not only a vibrant workspace but also beautiful outdoor spaces for you to relax and recharge.

Whether you’re enjoying a break in the park or taking advantage of our modern amenities, you’ll find the perfect blend of professionalism and comfort as you embark on your work experience with us.

Duration

The work experience will be for a fixed term of two weeks from 30 June – 11 July . Please ensure you are available to attend the vacation scheme before making your application. You will be eligible to be paid £485 for each week.

The opportunity

Our two-week summer vacation scheme is a great way to find out how we work and see for yourself the ways in which Joelson is excelling in the legal marketplace, gaining valuable legal work experience during your time with us. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Join client meetings and calls;
  • Conduct research;
  • Practice legal drafting;
  • Network with external parties;
  • Join our seminars and training programmes and work directly alongside our lawyers;
  • Observe how we enforce our B Corp values in a commercial landscape;
  • Receive tailored feedback from our legal team;
  • Put forward your interest to be a prospective trainee at our firm.
  • You will be assigned a mentor who will introduce you to our departments as well as providing support when required.
  • The successful candidate will build on their existing legal knowledge through gaining an understanding of the practical implications of the law.

The ideal candidate

The Ideal Work experience candidate will have the following:

  • An undergraduate in the final year of their law degree or in their postgraduate conversion course. Please note you would not be eligible for the scheme if you are unable to commence a training contract from September 2026 with the completion of the SQE1 and SQE 2 examinations;
  • Committed to a career in law;
  • A genuine passion to learn;
  • Strong academic qualifications at A Level and preferably on track for a good classification in a qualifying law degree or post graduate course;
  • Good problem-solving and lateral thinking skills;
  • A natural interest in business and current affairs;
  • An outgoing, enthusiastic and confident manner;
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Passionate about contributing to our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and B Corp commitments.
  • The ability to write accurately, clearly and fluently;
  • The ability to work well as a member of a team;
  • The ability to accept and learn from constructive criticism;
  • A ‘can-do’, flexible attitude.

Application process

The application process will consist of the following:

  • Submission of your online application with the necessary components.
  • A 2-minute video question on a contemporary topic.
  • A video interview with members of our legal team (taking place on week commencing 3 March 2025).
  • A 45-minute online written test.
