Working in close collaboration with our clients and supply chain, we deliver projects all the way from feasibility through to construction, commissioning, and handover -with a focus on providing great outcomes.

Your role as a BIM Technician will be to work collaboratively within a design and build team to deliver the BIM outputs of multiple projects. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your technical and management skills, grow your professional network, and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver CAD/BIM design data and undertake quality control processes and contribute to development of the CAD/BIM standards.
  • Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal and cost capture
  • Support the development of the common data environment platform and process (Autodesk BIM 360) and manage BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and develop a standardised BIM element library, to support model reuse and a production approach, including identify affordable and low carbon solutions.
  • Take responsibility for cyber security aspects associated with CAD/BIM data and access.
  • Undertake validation of CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate into our models.
  • Work with designers to manage the competing tensions of time, cost and quality.
  • Be an enabler for using Mott MacDonald’s global design services.
  • Manage safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability within your BIM/CAD output.
  • Support the project teams understanding of BIM and where appropriate supervise the work of less experienced BIM technicians, providing technical and professional guidance to aid their development

What you’ll need

  • Understanding of key principles of information management as set out in ISO 19650.
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of adopting to change to working processes and adoption new technologies.
  • Understanding of program, budget and quality requirements.
  • Proactive approach and growth mindset, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
