We are looking for a graduate who is currently working towards gaining their CFA qualification to support our in-house Research Department. The right candidate needs to demonstrate an interest in financial markets, company analysis and private client fund management.

 

Main tasks

  • Provide general administrative support for the research department
  • Take minutes at various internal meetings, such as stock selection and asset allocation, and at meetings with external parties, such as companies or funds the firm invests in on behalf of our clients
  • Proof read and format research reports, and maintain the department’s intranet page
  • Present research documents professionally and in an appropriate format
  • Maintain administration documents and update information regularly
  • Book meetings, appointments and team travel arrangements
  • Proactively look for efficiencies and potential process improvements across the team’s functions
  • Liaise with marketing to ensure they have the relevant information/documents produced by the research department
  • Assist the department and firm with regulatory compliance to MiFID II
  • Manage relationship with external research providers and support the head of research in conducting annual external research provider analysis
  • Assist with investment analysis tasks, such as finding specific financial data (learn to use FactSet and Bloomberg) or attend company meetings on the behalf of a research analyst
  • Opportunity to learn more about investment management/analysis, not only from the research team but also from various investment focused meetings (across equities, fixed income and multi-asset investment disciplines)

 

Qualifications, skills, experience and competencies needed

  • University graduate
  • Holder of IMC qualification and studying towards the CFA professional qualification
  • Demonstrable interest in financial markets, company analysis and private client fund management
  • Up to two years relevant financial services experience
  • Self-starter with  a strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and numerate
  • Able to develop and maintain excellent internal and external relationships
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good technical literacy – Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • An understanding of the UK Regulatory framework
