Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager. JLR is a multi-site business and you’ll be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations.

Our undergraduate programmes offer a direct pipeline to our graduate scheme, which is not eligible for sponsorship. Therefore, JLR will only accept applications for this programme from candidates who would have the right to work in the UK at the point that they would successfully convert to the graduate programme.

Industrial operations: Supply chain and logistics team

Our Reimagine strategy is transforming every part of our business. We’re rethinking how we design and deliver the next generation of luxury, sustainable cars and everything that goes into them.

We’re using advanced digital tools to reinvent our end-to-end supply chain capability and performance, bringing together a global network of more than 5,000 suppliers in the most connected way possible to achieve one thing: delivering awe-inspiring vehicles on time, flexibly, sustainably and competitively.

As an undergraduate in this team, you’ll complete one 12-month placement. The Supply Chain and Logistics undergraduate programme covers five key areas, within JLR’s Industrial Operations function: Supply Chain Planning, Material Fulfilment, IO Strategy & Programmes, Supply Chain Operations, Plant Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L).

Below you can find out more about the teams you could be working in.

Supply Chain Planning

Supply Chain Planning is at the heart of our business operations, responsible for providing the production plans that ensure timely vehicle delivery to our customers.

Strategy & Programmes

Our Strategy and Programmes team studies our end-to-end supply and manufacturing networks and oversees vehicle programme delivery, ensuring we deliver an optimised, resilient, and sustainable value chain.

Material Fulfilment

Material Fulfilment takes ownership of supply by building resilience within the supply base, analysing and resolving issues, and ensuring delivery and stability across JLR's supply chains for the present, near future, and long term.

Supply Chain Operations

The Supply Chain Operations team is responsible for the planning and executing optimised inbound and outbound logistics, driving efficient supply chain solutions for Freight, Import and Export Operations. They ensure contract efficiency to support JLR’s global manufacturing needs and meet customer demand. Sustainable Freight, Warehouse Operations & Packaging Solutions are seamlessly planned and executed to support on time delivery and maintain an efficient flow of materials and vehicles for all our customers.

Plant Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L)  Our Plant MP&L team ensures every assembly station on each manufacturing line has the right parts, in the right sequence, at the right time, working closely with our global supplier network and our lead logistics provider.

Recent projects include implementing a circular economy initiative that establishes a closed-loop supply chain, and preparing a comprehensive geopolitical supply chain risk study. We’ve also developed an accounting methodology for supply chain greenhouse gas emissions and water usage, and completed a sustainability impact assessment for our distribution compound that models distribution for peak manufacturing scenarios.
