About the Internship opportunity
We are excited to be offering an internship position as a Ground Engineering Intern in our Leeds team.
Jacobs is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of technical and management services, offering a full spectrum of consultancy support to commercial, government and industrial clients. As part of that support, Jacobs has developed one of the leading and longest-standing tunnel and ground engineering consultancy capabilities in the UK, with around 400 staff delivering practical, innovative and sustainable solutions to ground-related problems.
We are continuing to invest in our Ground Engineering group in the UK and are looking for students to join our team who have the passion and desire to add value and shape positive solutions for major projects across the world. In your role as a Summer Intern, you will work as part of a diverse and highly skilled team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists, working alongside more senior team members to provide support and advice to the wider Jacobs business and clients.

Here's what you'll need
- On track to complete a degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Geology
- A flexible and innovative self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems
- Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements
- A well-rounded individual – have you worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us - we’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences!
- You must be available to join the 8-week programme starting 30th June 2025 – 22nd August 2025.
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
- You need to be a penultimate year student, finishing your degree in 2026.
