About the opportunity

Jacobs is a world leader in coastal and maritime engineering and planning. We take great pride in our ability to deliver innovative and high quality technical solutions in the marine and coastal environment, balancing the need to provide resilient coastlines with the development of multi-functional, innovative engineering and planning solutions to deliver sustainable, prosperous coastal environments that work in harmony with natural processes.

Our coastal UK team consists of engineers, scientists and numerical modellers, who together provide a fundamental understanding of how the marine environment responds to natural and man-made interventions which is essential to designing and maintaining resilient schemes. Jacobs coastal team delivers coastal analysis, design, management and modelling solutions to our major UK and international clients and support the broader Jacobs maritime, energy, transportation and environmental sectors with coastal expertise.

Our modelling team utilize a wide variety of industry standard numerical modelling packages for a range of 1D, 2D and 3D applications, for wave and hydrodynamic processes, sediment transport and coastal morphodynamics, water quality and thermal plumes modelling in open coasts, estuaries and ports.  In addition the team is experiencing a rapid growth in the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for analysis of hydrodynamics and responses within coastal environments.
