About the opportunity
We are recruiting for Assistant Engineers to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a key role within our project management and engineering teams which are spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be part of a large client-led team at EDF’s Dungeness B Power Station and this role will support activities on site.
Since 1983 Dungeness B has generated low carbon electricity for 38.2 million homes and was the first Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor to begin construction in the UK. The station is now at a new phase in its life – defueling and decommissioning. This involves the safe removal of all spent fuel from the reactor core, the cooling ponds and stores whilst looking ahead and preparing for deconstruction.
At a time of nuclear resurgence working at Dungeness B offers a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within an operational defueling environment whilst also looking ahead to future potential opportunities in nuclear new build or decommissioning and deconstruction.
