Please ensure you read the following before applying:

To be considered for this traineeship, you’ll need:

  • Academics: we require that applicants have either a Qualifying Law degree (minimum 2:1) - please see the SRA website for details; this predominantly means an English law degree, with limited exceptions - or a non-Qualifying Law Degree and the GDL conversion course. We are conscious that the SQE route no longer requires this, but we feel that a Qualifying Law Degree or a non-law degree and conversion course remain necessary.
  • Further training: we require that applicants have either completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination (SQE Part 1 or Part 2) or are willing to enroll to complete either of these qualifications part time during the training period (some funding may be available from Invesco); and
  • UK location: we require that applicants have the right to work in the UK until at least April 2027.

  • Analysing and communicating regulatory change to different areas of the business;
  • Drafting and negotiating distribution agreements, platform agreements, terms of business, rebate agreements and fund link agreements;
  • Instructing and managing external counsel;
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating prospectuses, KIID documentation and other fund and service provider agreements relating to our ETF business; and

How to apply

Whilst a CV is important, we’d like to get to know you as more than just a name on a piece of paper. In addition to your CV, we’d like you to address a few questions that are important to us in a Word or PDF covering letter. Please limit your responses to no more than 250 words per question:

  • What interests you about a legal career within the investment management industry?
  • Introduce us to a topic you know about and tell us why it interests you.
  • Tell us about a particularly challenging situation you’ve faced (either personally or professionally), how you handled it and what you’ve learnt from this.
  • What has your work experience and/or education taught you so far about yourself and what you do/don’t enjoy?
  • What is your proudest achievement?

This is an opportunity for you to shine and to help us better understand more about you and your motivations. Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider your application without this submission.

Closing date for applications: Friday 20th September 2024

Although this position is contractually based in Henley-on-Thames, due to the importance of spending in-person time with team members and key internal business partners who are based in our London office, the anticipation is that you will work between the two offices as required.

At Invesco, our workplace model supports our culture and meets the needs of our clients while providing flexibility our employees value. As a full-time employee, compliance with the workplace policy means working with your direct manager to create a schedule where you will work in your designated office at least three days a week, with two days working outside an Invesco office.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! We want all of our candidates to shine during the application and selection process, so if you need any adjustments to be made, please send an e-mail to emea-talentacquisition@invesco.com. Please include your name, the job you are interested in, and the type of adjustment you need (for example; breaks during your interview, remote interviews, additional time for assessments or other required adjustments)
