Our Engineers will undertake and meet the statutory examination and contractual inspection obligations of our clients’ plant and equipment. In doing so, you would ensure that you align with company policies, processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • As an Engineer Surveyor, there is no fixed place of work - you are required to attend the premises of our company’s clients. We will provide you with all the technical equipment required. There is a however a requirement that you live within the geographical location that you cover. 
  • Planning full, meaningful days by arranging all activities in an effective, timely and efficient manner, with an accurate account of all time involved being recorded.
  • Being familiar with the health and safety laws and company policies.
  • Ensuring all plant on the contract schedule for the allocated service area is examined/inspected in accordance with applicable standards or accepted codes of practice. Ensuring that safe systems of work are available, including application of appropriate risk assessments and method statements, both our clients’ and our own. Providing, building and maintaining excellent client relationships and ensure that all customer service standards are met. Typical examinations may include LOLER 98, PSSR 2000, COSHH and PUWER Our clients work locations vary greatly. One day you could be inspecting a residential lift and the next it could be a vehicle ramp, forklift truck, steam boiler or a crane so no 2 days are ever the same.

Key skills and experience

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations such as LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSH. You will be the main point of contact for our clients so strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Our Engineers also need to have a good level of IT skill and be able to operate Microsoft and Apple software when out in the field.

Qualifications and educational requirements

  • A minimum NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Due to the nature of this role full driving license is essential.
