As a Software Engineer Intern at Honeywell, in our Satellite Communication team based from our Tewkesbury site, you will be responsible for supporting and developing cutting edge software solutions for satellite connectivity in the aerospace sector. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell.

This internship is set up for 12 months and will be for a candidate requiring a 2025 sandwich internship as part of their degree, with a potential opportunity for a permanent role after graduation.

Key responsibilities

You will be fully trained within a supportive and nurturing team to achieve the below:

  • Develop embedded and application software in line with standards and agreed designs
  • Execute software and system tests in line with procedures
  • Support the maintenance of build and other software/electronic systems
  • Produce status reports, presentations and technical reports/documents as required
  • Support the team as required to achieve company objectives

Key skills and qualifications

  • Business level communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Practical experience in software development, within: Software development Python, C and/or C++, Linux and windows, and/or embedded software development
  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Software, Computer Science, of similar, that requires a yearlong industry placement in 2025
  • A levels or equivalent in mathematics and science/engineering subjects’ grades C or above
