We are a friendly and driven software development team committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions. Our enterprise storage software product is primarily written in C++ with test software written in Python. In addition, there is a web-based interface developed using JavaScript.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join one of our SCRUM teams, focusing on C++ backend development using the state of the art development tools and practices. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining our enterprise storage software product.

Our work environment operates in a hybrid model, with teams currently spending two days per week in the office in Broadstone, close to Poole on the south coast.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality C++ backend features.
  • Debug and resolve software defects to optimize the performance and reliability of the product.
  • Engage proactively as a key member of the SCRUM team, actively participating in standups, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices.

What you bring to the team

  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming with a solid understanding of object-oriented principles.
  • Ideally, possess some knowledge and practical experience in Python.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork while also making valuable individual contributions.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and version control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
