Business Performance and Capability Lab (BPCL) at HWU is designed for impactful, practice-oriented research on measuring and managing business performance and capabilities. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assessing the digital capabilities of manufacturing SMEs across the UK.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Conduct on-site visits to manufacturing SMEs to assess their digital infrastructure, processes, and technologies.
- Engage with SME owners, managers, and employees to understand their challenges and opportunities.
- Analyze findings and identify gaps in digital capabilities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for enhancing digital maturity.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Provide support to your supervisors as needed.
Desired skills
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IoT, cloud computing, and data analytics.
- Knowledge of SME business operations and challenges.
- Practical experience in the manufacturing sector.
