Join our R&D Team in Weybridge for a 12 month industrial placement, starting in July 2025.

Are you a student who is in their 2nd year at University looking to kick start your career in Oral Healthcare?  The Stability placement in our R&D facility in Weybridge which is primarily dedicated to developing oral health products (e.g. toothpaste, mouthwash, denture cleansers/fixatives) will give you hands-on application of the knowledge you have gained at university. As a member of the R&D Stability team, you are responsible for designing a stability strategy and analysing the resultant data using statistical tools with the aim of assigning a product shelf-life expiry term. You will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from an experienced team who will support you to reach your full potential. 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding in how commercial product shelf-life is assigned for Global product launches. Via designing stability protocols to meet shelf-life expiry requirements, managing sample pulls/testing results and performing statistical analysis e.g. data trending, confidence limits 
  • Assist in creating a systematic approach to managing historical data and write queries that enable potential for product shelf-life scenarios to be modelled   
  • Collaborate on research projects, by first seeking to understand key objectives, success criteria, timings for deliverables and structuring your work accordingly.  
  • Working both individually and with other teams (Regulatory, Quality, Product Development) to provide scientific and technical input that helps to support product shelf-life. 
  • Seek advice from colleagues and management when unexpected results occur or when major changes to project plans are considered and act pro-actively to address these. 
  • Look for innovative improvements and better ways of working whilst striving to eliminate non-value-added steps out of processes and procedures. 
  • Ensure all work is conducted to appropriate Safety and Quality requirements as appropriate. 

Education requirements

You will currently be studying towards your Undergraduate Degree in: Chemistry / Cosmetics / Pharmacy / Food Science or similar. Knowledge of Computer Science / Statistics would be advantageous. 

If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university. Please ensure the role is suitable for your placement year.

Application process

The application process has a total of up to 4 stages: 

  • Application – information will be required regarding your education and Right to Work. 
  • Online Assessment – you will be asked to complete an online behaviour based assessment/interview. 
  • Telephone Screening – if selected you will be contacted by an Early Talent Partner to discuss your application and motivation for joining Haleon. 
  • Interview – if selected you will be invited to attend a virtual interview ; The interview will consist of a competency-based interview and may include a case study/technical exercise. 
  • Offer – candidates will receive an outcome within 2 weeks following interview. 

Interviews will be held in November/December 2024
