Join our R&D Analytical Science Team in Weybridge St Georges for a 12 month industrial placement, starting in July 2025.

Are you a student who is in their 2nd year at University looking to kick start your career in R&D?  The Haleon R&D Team supports the development of leading global brands. As an Analytical Scientist you are responsible for executing the technical strategies in analytical chemistry employing state of the art instrumentation. This practical based role will support global brands covering a range of products, dosage forms and markets using techniques such as High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). 

You will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from an experienced team who will support you to reach your full potential. 

Key responsibilities

  • An engaged scientist who executes technical aspects of analytical development 
  • Assist in the development of approaches to solve moderate problems 
  • Demonstrates ability to take initiative and independently perform design of experiments and carries out scientific work with an awareness of common analytical techniques such as liquid and gas chromatography 
  • Ensures work is conducted following good scientific practice 
  • Gets involved in safety and quality responsibilities for the group and/or wider department 

Education requirements

You will currently studying for an Undergraduate Degree in a Chemistry, Pharmacuetical Science or related discipline. 

If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university. Please ensure the role is suitable for your placement year.

Application process

The application process has a total of up to 4 stages: 

  • Application – information will be required regarding your education and Right to Work. 
  • Online  Assessment – you will be asked to complete a behaviourbased online assessment/interview. 
  • Telephone Screening – if selected you will be contacted by an Early Talent Partner to discuss your application and motivation for joining Haleon. 
  • Interview – if selected you will be invited to attend a virtual interview  The interview will consist of a competency-based interview and may include a case study/technical exercise. 
  • Offer – candidates will receive an outcome within 2 weeks following interview. 

Interviews will be held in November/December 2024
