Our Europe Contract Manufacturing Operations (CMO) team is a dynamic team driving innovation and operational excellence across regions.

As an industrial placement student, you will:

  • Gain practical experience, developing real-world skills by managing supplier relationships, global programs, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Broaden your knowledge, and acquire a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end supply chain management and manufacturing operations across diverse regions.
  • Make an impact, and contribute to cutting-edge projects that drive innovation and shape the future of global manufacturing.
  • Hands-On Learning, in essential areas such as governance, risk management, and sustainability, applying your knowledge to practical scenarios.

You will work within a Regional Supplier Relationship team to:

  • Managing day-to-day operations, including supply management, procurement, quality control, technical support, project management, new product launches, innovation, sustainability (ESG), compliance, network changes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the CMO Centre of Excellence, by driving global programmes such as:
  • Enhancing tech systems and processes that support CMO teams.
  • Overseeing governance processes like risk management, project review boards, and global CMO connect forums.
  • Managing key programs including Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABAC), human rights, and conflict minerals with our contract manufacturers.
  • Supporting the delivery of a CMO capability program focused on both individual and team development.
  • Leading CMO communications in collaboration with regional communication leads.
  • Work across global regions, gaining international exposure by collaborating with teams and stakeholders across the USA, Latin America, the Middle East & Africa, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Education requirements

  • We welcome applicants from all degree disciplines; however, Bachelor of Science, Bachelors of Engineer, Master of Science, Master of Engineering degrees, as well as degrees in Biomedical Science, or Supply / Procurement are particularly advantageous for this placement.
  • If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree, you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university. 
  • Please ensure the role is suitable for your placement year.
