Join our Haleon Research & Development Team based in Weybridge, for a 12-month industrial placement, starting in July 2025.

As an Analytical Scientist placement student, you’ll work with cutting-edge technologies and techniques like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC), helping to shape the future of global healthcare products.

Throughout your placement, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Apply technical skills to analytical chemistry, working with state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to take initiative and independently perform design of experiments and carries out scientific work with an awareness of common analytical techniques such as liquid and gas chromatography.
  • Collaborate across departments to support the development of a variety of products and dosage forms.
  • Ensure that all work meets scientific standards and regulatory guidelines, such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Get hands-on experience solving real-world problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Engage with safety and quality initiatives within your team and the wider department.

Education requirements

  • We welcome applicants from all degree disciplines, however degrees in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or related Sciences are particularly advantageous for this placement.
  • If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree, you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university.
  • Please ensure the role is suitable for your placement year.

Application process

The application process has a total of up to 4 stages:

  • Application: You will need to provide information about your education and Right to Work status.
  • Online Assessment: You will complete an online assessment that includes an interview.
  • Recruiter Screening: If selected, an Early Talent Partner will contact you to discuss your application and motivation for joining Haleon.
  • Interview: If shortlisted, you will be invited to a virtual interview, which will include a competency-based interview and may involve a case study or technical exercise.
  • Offer: Candidates will be notified of the outcome within two weeks of the interview
