About the team

Our global Life Sciences consulting team works with a wide range of multinational biopharmaceutical companies as well as emerging biotech and medical device companies.  We help our clients maximize the value of their products and the effectiveness of their organizations by providing commercial strategy and operations services from early commercialization into launch through loss of exclusivity. We help manufacturers engage with their customers to create demand and gain medication access across developed and emerging markets. Responsibilities

The Intern role is a 9-week programme conducted during the summer months.  Contingent upon excellent performance and business needs, Interns will be presented with an opportunity to join as full-time Consultant or Senior Consultant based on prior work experience and education following their graduation.

This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills. As integral members of project teams, supporting the planning and execution of live projects, Interns are provided the opportunity to put their stamp on impactful and meaningful work working with colleagues in offices across the UK, EU, US, and India. As our clients are senior stakeholders in mostly large, complex companies, Associates will be coached to demonstrate business professionalism and asked to grasp new concepts quickly, to perform effectively in the client environment.

What you'll do

Interns are an important component of the Guidehouse consulting team. Our Life Sciences Interns are responsible for contributing to project workstreams and modules of large complex projects and developing client deliverables. As responsibilities grow and capabilities are demonstrated, Guidehouse is committed to supporting Interns in their progression to Consultant and Senior Consultant and beyond.

  • Participate as a key member of global Life Sciences projects on behalf of a broad set of clients
  • Analyze scientific, clinical, financial, and strategic information to discern the business implications of innovative technologies and emerging trends
  • Participate in the development of strategic insights for clients and help shape product and portfolio development decisions
  • Support the collection of information to interpret, and synthesize data, and extract meaningful insights from varied structured and unstructured sources
  • Plan and support interviews with medical experts and key opinion leaders, capturing information in a succinct and cohesive format
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative research findings, developing robust analyses with actionable strategic recommendations for clients
  • Prepare and participate in client presentations and client workshops
  • Participate in Life Sciences practice development activities and firm-wide development initiatives
  • Support Life Sciences business development efforts including proposal development and client relationships

Qualifications

  • Interest in the life sciences industry through education or prior internship experiences
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex business issues succinctly and with impact
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, with a strong eye for detail, and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrated project management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with speed and accuracy
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint), including presentation and financial modelling
  • Must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication and presentation skills in English
  • Currently enrolled in a university
  • Fluency in major languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Arabic) is an advantage but not required
  • Demonstrated business maturity to perform effectively and add value to project teams

Travel is required for the role based on client demand. The successful candidate will report to an Associate Director within our EME (Europe and the Middle East) offices who will support the candidates overall professional growth and development.
