Commercial Insight Manager – TfL and Data Planning

Reporting of the Role

Initially, the role will report to the Director of Research and Insight and the task manager is a senior external consultant focusing on the TfL contract and Outdoor Data analysis for the Group. It is anticipated that line management will change during 2023.

Overview of job

Working closely with our TfL partners and across our Commercial and Partnership teams, you will act as the internal expert for all TfL related data. Your love of data and insight along with your strong understanding of our operational performance will ensure you can recommend sound commercial advice to partners and colleagues alike.

Alongside this, you will work with the Director of Research and Insight to develop a planning system that helps to power our Global Planning Framework, bringing in data from different sources (including TfL data, fused Route and RAJAR data) to help commercial teams to make efficient and reliable decisions about how to recommend our channels and brands to clients.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Act as the day-to-day lead on TfL data strategy to deliver commercially valuable analysis and insight to Global, TfL and our agency, specialist and client partners.
  • Maximise the usage of TfL’s rich and outstanding data set by Global’s agencies, partners and partners through your regular promotion of the data’s benefits to a myriad of use cases and against a variety of objectives.
  • Act as liaison between TfL Commercial, Global Outdoor Partnerships and Global Commercial teams to not just fulfil but go beyond our TfL contract obligations
  • Lead the development of a planning tool, allowing us to provide agencies and clients with an evidence-based approach to support he Global Planning Framework.
  • Day to day support to commercial teams ranging from help on individual campaigns through to building products and inputting on client pitches
  • Use in depth knowledge of currencies including their methodology to query to best effect
  • Deliver timely and effective advice and analysis to multiple partners, including regular reporting to both external and internal partners
  • Ensure and maintain in depth knowledge of LU network and variety of data sources that impact our ability to maximise the value we generate to our partners e.g. TAPs and Route
  • Proactively interrogate relevant data to evolve this offering on an incremental basis.
  • Collaborate with Data and Technology teams within Global and TfL

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative, effective solutions and be capable of the following:

  • Exceptional use of data visualisation skills
  • Experience with developing and sharing performance indicators
  • Confident use of research systems such as Telmar
  • Understanding research tools such as TGI and IPA Touchpoints
  • Good understanding of databases and related technologies
  • Understanding underlying data structures and querying them
  • Using a range of BI Tools e.g. Qlik Sense, Tableau, to produce workable prototypes from any data-source
  • An understanding of audience led planning
  • Using robust technical knowledge for data processing and pipelines
  • Managing multiple requests effectively and efficiently at the same time
  • Using your strong organisation and prioritisation skills to deliver your work
  • Innovating and bringing new ways of thinking to your team and partners
