At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Procurement Year in Industry Intern to join us for 1 year to work on multiple projects. 

Working within the Global Indirect Commodity Procurement team, this role will be accountable for supporting the development and implementing of Maintenance & repair commodity strategies, through analysing procurement and contractual data, recommending project priorities and engaging with Sites & Suppliers to support and/or deliver projects which leverage GKN Aerospace’s spend to deliver significant annual improvements in cost and working capital.

How you'll contribute

  • Establish data/fact driven analysis of potential opportunities for Global Indirect procurement activities 
  • Work with Internal stakeholders to communicate and gain buy in/ support to projects.
  • Provide analysis & information to Managers / Stakeholders on plans and benefits of actions
  • Make and justify recommendations on way forward for projects
  • Work closely with Supplier representatives to gather data and define options for continuous improvement
  • Support key negotiation activities by commodity team members with senior level representatives of Suppliers to deliver benefits to business 
  • As part of sourcing team support Requests For Proposal / Auction activities within maintenance & repair commodities across GKN Aerospace.
  • Support RFP Analysis and with stakeholders make recommendations 
  • Support implementation of projects / contracts into sites
  • Create review process for specific projects within areas of responsibility Understand market trends to support future activities in the commodities
