What to expect
Our expectation is that during the Sustainability Graduate Scheme you will help deliver our Sustainability Programme across the Gist network. You will be a part of driving progress within our work streams, encouraging positive change in our Gist colleagues and striving to keep our central-led focus on track. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the organisation and leadership of Gist’s agenda in respect to each of the human, social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability.
- Working across various areas of the organisation including Engineering, Finance, Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Communications to support the implementation of the Gist-wide sustainability programme.
- Supporting the main areas of focus including: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
- Analysing large and complex data sets to help the team make strategic decisions.
- Helping our colleagues understand the importance of reducing our Environmental impact and want to deliver positive change.
- Researching sustainability topics and trends and providing the team and stakeholders with best practice recommendations.
- Driving change in our focus areas of sustainability; ESG – Environment, Social and Governance – centrally and at site.
- Keeping up-to-date with the progression of technology in the temperature-controlled logistics sector.
What you need
- You are studying/have studied a sustainability related discipline (preferred not essential).
- You have a passion for sustainability and environment.
- As you will be required to rotate around and visit our UK-wide depots, you must be geographically mobile and hold a full UK driving license.
- You thrive in fast paced and challenging environments, which will see you succeed when pushed out of your comfort zone.
- You are self-motivated, confident and career driven.
